PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine drive type air conditioner effective for miniaturization and space-saving. SOLUTION: This device has a mounted body 2 coaxially mounted on an output shaft 10 of an engine 1, a compressor 3 disposed outside of the mounted body 2 (unit body), a transmitting member 4 transmitting driving force of the output shaft 10 to the compressor 3 through the mounted body 2, and a refrigerant circulating passage. The mounted body 2 has a rotator 20 fitted to the output shaft 10 of the engine 1, a permanent magnet 24 mounted on the rotator 20, an one-way clutch 25 disposed between the output shaft 10 and the rotator 20, and a coil portion 26 disposed at an outer peripheral side of the permanent magnet 24, functioned as a motor by generating rotary magnetic field rotating around a shaft center P1, and producing power generation output.
