PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thoroughly cool and lubricate a sliding part of a fixed vessel and a rotary board. SOLUTION: In this vortex flow barrel polisher, an urethane lining 23 is formed on the inner wall surface of the fixed vessel 21 of a barrel vessel 20 including the cylindrical fixed vessel 21 and the rotary board 22 rotatably disposed on the lower part thereof, a ceramic ring 27 is fitted to the rotary board 22, and with a projected part 24 of the urethane lining 23 in contact with the ceramic ring 27, the rotary board 22 is rotated to cause mass in the barrel vessel to flow, thereby performing barrel polishing. The polisher includes: a water supply hole for supplying polishing liquid toward the inside of the barrel vessel from the sliding part S of the projected part 24 and the ceramic ring 27; an exhaust valve 47 for eliminating air staying in the vicinity of the sliding part; and a valve shaft 44 for opening and closing a drain hole 22a of the barrel vessel 20.
