PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for treating a synthetic fiber, which deals with speed-up of a spinning process and a processing process of synthetic fiber in recent years, sufficiently prevents occurrence of fluff and end breakages, in its turn, occurrence of uneven dyeing and to provide a method for treating a synthetic fiber. SOLUTION: The agent for treating a synthetic fiber comprises≥70% mass% of the total of three components of (A) a specific polyether compound, (B) a specific nonionic surfactant and (C) an ionic surfactant in the ratios of 72-99 parts by mass of the component (A), 0.5-27 parts by mass of the component (B) and 0.1-10 parts by mass of the component (C) based on 100 parts by mass of the total of the three components.
