PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a display panel in a floating state, to easily change variations for colors of a cover frame, and to freely select variations for patterns or colors of an image display device. SOLUTION: An image display device comprises a display panel 3a including a display screen expanded flatly, a frame-shaped mounting frame 4 to which the display panel is mounted in the state of exposing the display screen and which includes a transparent portion outside and includes a non-transparent portion inside, and a cover frame 5 covering the boundary between the transparent portion and the non-transparent portion of the mounting frame. In such a case, a see-through portion 20 is provided which is capable of seeing through the back by disposing the mounting frame 4 while confronting at least a part of its transparent portion with at least a part around the display panel.
