PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device capable of preventing moisture in ink near a nozzle opening generated by a moisturizer contained in the ink remaining in a capping means from evaporating. SOLUTION: The liquid jet device is equipped with a recording head 20 for ejecting the ink from the nozzle opening 20c, a carriage 1 for reciprocating the recording head 20, a capping means 12 for sealing a nozzle face 24 of the recording head 20, a capping control means for controlling the capping movement of the nozzle face 24 performed by the capping means 12 and a maintenance control means for controlling the maintenance operation for recovering the ejection characteristic of the nozzle opening 20c by discharging the ink from the nozzle opening 20c. At the time of the maintenance operation, the nozzle face 24 is sealed in the first cap area 15 wherein an absorber 17 of the ink exists. When suspending the device and going into the neglect state, the second cap area 16 wherein the absorber does not exist is made to face the nozzle opening 20c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
