PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which the rear surface of a recording medium is prevented from becoming dirty in ink even if edgeless printing is performed on a recording medium of different width. SOLUTION: A base 76 for adsorption holding a recording sheet includes sections 90 and 92 for receiving ink ejected to the outside of the opposite ends of the recording sheet 48 in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction thereof. On the outside of the opposite ends of the recording sheet in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction thereof, shielding boards 80A and 80B movable in the direction parallel with the surface of the recording sheet and perpendicular to the conveyance direction thereof are arranged depending on the end position of a recording medium of different width. When a narrow recording sheet is used, the shielding boards 80A and 80B are arranged to cover the conveyance region on the outside of the ink receiving sections 90 located at the opposite ends of the recording sheet.
