PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for shortening a processing time required for color space conversion using a color space conversion matrix; and to provide a printer, an image processing method, and an image processing program. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus converts a color space of a digital image, using a matrix operation of pixel values consisting of a plurality of pixel components and a color space conversion matrix. The image processing apparatus is provided with a storage means for storing a product between the value of the matrix components and each of values to be acquired by a pixel component of a multiplication target, for each of the matrix components of the color space conversion matrix; a pixel selecting means for selecting a pixel in interest from the digital image; and a matrix operating means for acquiring a product between the value of the matrix component and the value of the pixel component of the multiplication target of the matrix component of the target pixel from the storage means for each of the matrix components, and adding the acquired product for each line.
