PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer having high storage stability and satisfactory positive chageability and fixability. SOLUTION: The liquid developer composed of a vegetable oil using positive charge type pigment as a carrier liquid uses the carrier liquid of 40 to 80 mass% in the linolic acid component of triglyceride in the carrier liquid and contains an antioxidant composed of at least one phosphorous ester compound selected from triphenylphosphite, trioleilphosphite, diphenyl mono(2-ethyl hexyl)phosphite, dilauryl hydrogen phosphite, diphenyl hydrogen phosphite, tetraphenyl tetra(tridecyl)pentaerithritol tetra phosphite, and tetra(C12-C15 alkyl)4,4'-isopropylidene diphenylphosphite.
