摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy demands on an internal combustion engine as preferably as possible when intake air quantity is increased and fuel injection quantity is increased for raising temperature of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A combustion control device execute at least one of fuel injection combustion control for raising exhaust gas temperature injecting fuel, igniting the same by a spark plug and burning the same, and fuel injection combustion control for raising exhaust gas temperature injecting and burning fuel at timing enabling to ignite the same by combustion heat by previous fuel injection combustion control at least once after execution of fuel injection combustion control for engine output injecting fuel, igniting the same by the spark plug 7 and burning the same during one engine cycle at a time of exhaust gas temperature raise demand. If intake air quantity increases when exhaust gas temperature raise is demanded, total fuel injection quantity for raising exhaust gas temperature is increased in one engine cycle by increasing number of times of execution of fuel injection combustion control for raising exhaust gas temperature in one engine cycle or increasing fuel injection quantity per one fuel injection combustion control for raising exhaust gas temperature.
