TOOTHED SECTION FROM AN ADAPTED SINTERED MATERIAL

The invention relates to a component that comprises a surface-compressed toothed section from a sintered material. The invention is characterized in that the component has a gradient of the sintered materials used when seen from a cross-section of the component. The component is preferably a gearwheel e.g. for rotors or oil pump wheels. Preferably, the gradient is chosen in such a manner that either there is a transitional limit along the entire surface between a first and a second sintered material (step function) or else that there is a gradual transition between the two materials. An example of a method for producing the component is cold or hot pressing, then high-temperature sintering, then surface compression by reversing rolling, then induction or case hardening and finally grinding or honing. The materials used preferably consist of an aluminum or iron alloy.
