A voice subscriber apparatus in an optical termination equipment is provided to improve system quality in the assembling and testing of voice subscriber boards by defining and designing a new format to simplify control signals to control and manage the state of each subscriber terminal and remarkably reducing the number of pins of components associated with the transmission of the control signals in each voice subscriber board. A voice subscriber apparatus in an optical termination equipment consists of a voice subscriber board(31) and a control board. The voice subscriber board, interfaced with a plurality of subscriber terminals(10), controls the subscriber terminals using a register. In this case, the voice subscriber board, based on the values stored in the register(312-1), inserts a hook detection result, detected from each subscriber terminal, in a subscriber control signal and transmits it to the control board. Also the voice subscriber board controls each subscriber terminal using a subscriber control command contained in a subscriber control signal received from the control board. The control board selects the voice subscriber board and a control scheme using a board control signal, and transmits a subscriber control command to the voice subscriber board using a subscriber control signal. If a hook detection result is received from the voice subscriber board, the control board controls and manages a subscriber terminal interfaced with the voice subscriber board.
