<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with a subtle change of a hydraulic pressure due to drying of ink, coating or the like at the tip of a doctor and with clogging with tiny refuse or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A pressure supply source and a variable tube body 4 which is connected to the pressure supply source through the intermediary of a pressure regulating valve and made expansible in the direction of the outside diameter or contractible in the direction of the inside diameter by a supply pressure from the pressure supply source, are provided. The variable tube body 4 is disposed on the undersurface side of a doctor blade P fixed in a doctor holder 11 and the degree of the curvature of the doctor blade P itself brought about with rotation of a plate roll Q is thereby made controllable. The pressure regulating valve is connected through a controller to a pressure sensor which is provided on the variable tube body 4 side so as to convert the pressure inside the variable tube body 4 into an electric signal.
