PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device which can carry out printing at an optimum platen gaps corresponding to a cockling quantity that depends on print data and temperature and humidity. SOLUTION: According to the ink-jet recording device a color of a highest ejection concentration of the print data is selected and printed by one-pass recording as preliminary recording, and a cockling quantity is measured after the lapse of a predetermined time period by an optical dislocation sensor mounted on a carriage, followed by adjusting the platen gap to a minimum value. Herein, the predetermined time period is equal to a time period necessary for printing of one band. In this manner the platen gap can be adjusted to the minimum value irrespective of a print image and the printing environment (temperature and humidity). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
