PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for an aqueous ball-point pen, which is free from hanging down of an ink and capable of suppressing the variation of pH by the affection of a recording medium through bleeding and strike-through of handwriting etc., and is also excellently stable in ink solubility. SOLUTION: The ink composition for an aqueous ball-point pen is characterized by essentially containing water, a pH adjustor, a pH indicator and a thixotropic property-imparting agent (excluding the agent of increasing viscosity by the repulsion of ions).
