PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing not only the water content of a dewatering cake using a dewatering agent of sludge but also the volume of the sludge, and a COD component and a phosphorus concentration of a filtrate after the sludge is dewatered. SOLUTION: The method for treating organic sludge comprises loading the organic sludge with the sludge dewatering agent, mixing it, flocculating the sludge, and then dewatering it by a dewaterer, wherein a polyalkylene imine modified material, a cationic water-soluble polymer and/or an amphoteric water-soluble polymer are used together as the sludge dewatering agent.
