A water collection device (18) and pump (22) generate a circulating flow of water. The transport device comprises a bath with a hopper for delivering water and/or crops to the first screen. The two screens are formed by parallel rolls rotated in the same direction. The gaps between the rolls in the screens decrease in the downstream direction. A return system is located on the downstream side of the screen arrangement (4). A water supply is connected to the machine. A waste discharge system is located on the underside and/or rear side of the rearmost discharge device. Cutting devices are located on the underside and preferably the rear side of the screens. The screens include belts with bars and have a rotary parallel spiral shape.
