<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved design of an inlay for a cornea, in which a desirable shape of a cornea front surface is more correctly generated for correcting visual impairment. <P>SOLUTION: This method designes an inlay for a cornea for correcting visual impairment of a patient. The patient has a preoperative corneal surface. The method comprises a process of determining a desirable cornea front surface 17 for correcting the visual impairment, a process of prescribing a thickness profile 18 based on difference between the desirable cornea front surface 17 and the cornea front surface 15 before the operation, and a process of determining size of the inlay in such a way that it substantially has the thickness profile 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
