<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of detecting the occurrence of jam at startup time for raising the temperature of a heating roller. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: the heating roller for fixing an unfixed toner image on a recording medium; a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the heating roller; a temperature control means for driving a heater, to raise the temperature of the heating roller up to a target temperature; and a jam detecting means for comparing a scheduled reaching temperature estimated that the temperature of the heating roller reaches at at least one timing in the temperature rising process of the heating roller with a measured temperature detected by a temperature detecting means, to detect the jam of the recording medium, based on the comparison result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
