<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating water which can enhance the water quality of rearing water and reduce a running cost, and an apparatus for treating water. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating water 100 comprises a micro nano bubble treatment tank 7, a gravity filtration tank 27 and a rearing tank circulation pump 19. The micro nano bubble treatment tank 7 is introduced with the rearing water used for rearing a fish 2 from a rearing tank 11 and contains a micro nano bubble in the rearing water from the rearing tank 1. The gravity filtration tank 27 is introduced with the rearing water containing the micro nano bubble from the micro nano bubble treatment tank 7 and treats the rearing water containing the micro nano bubble.
