PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste application apparatus and a paste application method capable of improving the following property of a nozzle to the surface of a substrate and the application precision and a manufacturing apparatus of a display panel using the apparatus and method. SOLUTION: The paste application apparatus 2 is for applying and drawing patterns 33 on the surface of a substrate 8 by discharging a paste by a nozzle 26 and comprises a control apparatus 36 which previously measures the height of the mounting face 15A of a stage 15 for holding the substrate 8, relatively moves the nozzle 26 along the surface of the stage 15 on the basis of the height information of the mounting face 15A, and adjusts the gap between the tip end of the nozzle 26 and the surface of the substrate 8 put on the mounting face 15A on the basis of the measured value of the distance to the surface of the substrate 8.
