PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment system which can surely control the residual chlorine concentration of water to be treated. SOLUTION: In the water treatment system, the residual chlorine concentration of the water to be treated introduced from a pool tank into an electrolytic circulation unit 200 through a filter 508 is detected by a residual chlorine concentration sensor 242. When the detected residual chlorine concentration is less than a prescribed control value, the electrolysis of the water to be treated is continuously performed in the electrolytic circulation unit 200, and a solution containing residual chlorine is continuously fed from an electrolytic hypochlorous acid generation unit 300 to the electrolytic circulation unit 200. When the detected residual chlorine concentration is equal to or more than the prescribed control value, and such a state is continued for a prescribed time period, the electrolysis of the water to be treated in the electrolytic circulation unit 200 is switched to intermittent operation.
