An air conditioner having a function of determining whether the amount of refrigerant in a refrigerant circuit is appropriate, wherein the time for refrigerant amount determination operation is reduced and the refrigerant amount determination operation is reliably completed. The air conditioner (1) has the refrigerant circuit (10), operation control means, stability determination means, refrigerant amount determination means, and condition change means. The operation control means can perform the refrigerant amount determination operation in which constituting devices are controlled to achieve a predetermined control target value. The stability determination means determines whether the refrigerant amount determination operation is stabilized. When the refrigerant amount determination operation is determined to be stabilized, the refrigerant amount determination means determines whether the amount of the refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit (10) is appropriate, and the determination is made by using the refrigerant flowing in the refrigerant circuit (10) or the operation state quantities of the constituting devices. The condition change means changes a control target value in the refrigerant amount determination operation when the (refrigerant determination) operation is not stabilized.
