An engine air particle filter system in a helicopter having a support structure that is fixed to the helicopter. The support structure has a plurality of ribs. The plurality of ribs and the support structure form a plurality of openings. A plurality of trays, containing a filter media, each fit into each one of the plurality of openings in an airtight configuration. A connector releasably secures each one of the plurality of trays to the support structure so that each one of the plurality of trays can be selectively inserted and withdrawn from each one of the plurality of openings.
