A work machine where a travel device and a work device can be operated by a common operation lever, in which switchover operation of the lever is easy and the fact that the switchover has been made is easily confirmed. In a cabin of the working machine, there are arranged a travel pedal (12) and an operation lever (13). The travel pedal (12) is capable of operating the travel device. The operation lever (13) is capable of travel operation and is also capable of work operation by the work device. A switch (15) is provided on a console (14) located near one side of an operator's seat (11). The switch (15) switches over between a travel mode in which travel operation by the operation lever (13) is possible and a work mode in which work operation by the operation lever (13) is possible. The work machine has a controller that, even if the switch (15) is at the travel mode and at the work mode, enables work operation by the operation lever (13) when the travel pedal (12) is not depressed, and when the switch (15) is at the travel mode, the controller enables the travel operation by the operation lever (13) only when the travel pedal (12) is being depressed.
