An article design support system for further enhancing a degree of design freedom an article (for example, furniture). A part space P surrounding parts incorporated in a cell space S is correlated with the cell space S formed by a frame constituting a unit. The position (size) of the part space P in the cell space S is defined by part space data defining a relative position and a relative size with reference to the cell space S. Further, the position (size) of a part in the part space P is defined by part (element) data defining a relative position and a relative size with reference to the part space P.
