<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane filtration unit which can ensure durability by preventing hairs, fibers, paper pieces in wastewater from being tangled or caught on a membrane bundle, frame materials, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane filtration unit comprises a hollow fiber membrane module made by parallelly installing a plurality of sheetlike hollow fiber membrane elements 10, obtained by serially arranging a number of porous hollow fiber membranes 10a, at prescribed intervals so that the fiber direction of the porous hollow fiber membrane is vertical, and an air diffuser disposed below the hollow fiber membrane module, discharging fine air bubbles to the bottom of the hollow fiber membrane module to generate a gas-liquid mixed flow rotating vertically between the internal space and external space of the hollow fiber membrane module. The membrane filtration unit has a screen residue removal mechanism for removing screen residues mixed in the gas-liquid mixed flow to the outside from the hollow fiber membrane module by generating a forced flow in a part of the mixed flow between the porous hollow fiber membranes and between the sheetlike hollow fiber membrane elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
