PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply having stable and optimal response characteristics. SOLUTION: In the switching power supply comprising a control circuit 10 for detecting an output voltage Vout and delivering a control signal to a main switch provided on the input Vin side, an external capacitor Cout is connected with the output of the switching power supply. The control circuit comprises a data storage means 12 storing PID control value data and arranged to calculate a PID constant value by comparing the output capacity of the external capacitor with the PID control value, and to output the control signal to the main switch based on the PID constant value.
