METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has a protective object free of occurrence of image noises such as image fog, vertical streaks and image blur and having high bond strength to a base and high film strength, and which ensures excellent printing durability; and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the same. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor 1, on a surface of a substrate 6 obtained by sequentially stacking at least a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transport layer 4 on a conductive support 2; the protective object 5 comprising amorphous carbon (protective layer) is formed while superposing and applying a pulse high-frequency voltage and a negative pulse bias voltage on the conductive support 2. The protective object 5 is formed by alternately repeating a first step of depositing amorphous carbon (protective layer) on the surface of the substrate 6 and a second step of exposing the surface of the amorphous carbon (protective layer) deposited at the first step to hydrogen plasma.
