PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress smears so as not to make images unnatural. SOLUTION: It is judged by comparing the OB pixel data value Vob of an optical black part with a smear judgement threshold Vthob whether smears are present or not. When the smears are detected, the expansion region saturation voltage Vex of an expansion region 21b is set up as a saturation voltage Vsat in place of the liner region saturation voltage VL of a usual liner region 21a to carry out an image processing. The saturation voltage Vsat is expanded up to the expansion region saturation voltage Vex, so that the ratio of a smear component Vs occupying an analog output voltage signal 21 to the analog output voltage signal 21 is reduced, and the smears stop being conspicuous.
