PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has good time efficiency of speed adjustment from exposure to conveyance to a developing section. SOLUTION: Exposed cut recording paper P is clamped and conveyed by high-speed roller pairs 50 to 52. While the cut recording paper P is passed downstream from the high-speed roller pairs 50 to 52, the cut recording paper P is released from being clamped by the high-speed roller pairs 50 to 52. At this point, a speed adjusting roller pair 54 reduce the conveying speed of the cut recording paper P while idling in the conveying direction of the cut recording paper P through a one-way clutch 56 to clamp and convey the cut recording paper P toward a development processing section at a speed slower than the conveying speed of the high-speed roller pairs 50 to 52.
