PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition providing rich foam and good finger-combability at rinsing, imparting excellent touch feeling to the hair after drying, capable of inhibiting the smell of the scalp, and having temporal stability. SOLUTION: The shampoo composition contains (A) an anionic surfactant, (B) an ampholytic and/or semipolar surfactant, (C) one or more kinds of cationic macromolecular compounds selected from a cationized cellulose, a cationized guar gum, and a copolymer of a monomer mixture containing a vinylic monomer having a hydroxy group and an amide group, and a vinylic monomer having a cationic group, (D) a polylysine and/or a salt thereof, and (E) an organic acid.
