PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear bodywork of a vehicle capable of putting the tail of a tonneau cover into the up-and-down displacement along guide rails using a simple constitution, being free of such a detriment as worsening of the rear field of view etc. resulting from narrowing of the installing spacing of a left and a right guide rail. SOLUTION: The rear bodywork of the vehicle includes two guide rails to support slidably the left and right ends of a pulling rod 7 installed at the tail of the tonneau cover 6, whereby the pulling rod 7 is put in slide displacement along the left and right guide rails 8, in which the left and right guide rails 8 are positioned parallel when viewed from behind the vehicle, and the over-part of the guide rails 8 is positioned in front of a rear pillar 18 when viewed from beside the body in a position overlapping on the rear pillar 18 when viewed from behind the vehicle, while the under-part of the guide rails 8 is arranged inside of the rear pillar 18 when viewed from behind the vehicle in a position overlapping on the rear pillar 18 when viewed from beside the body.
