PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shock absorbing structure of a vehicle capable of properly protecting an occupant in a front collision of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In this shock absorbing structure of a vehicle having an engine 10 laterally arranged in a front part thereof, a front edge 15F of an intake manifold 15 projecting from an engine main body 14 toward a front side of the vehicle is formed so as to follow a virtual inclined surface gradually retreated from one side to the other side in the car cross direction with a plane view, and one side surface 14R of the engine main body 14 in the car cross direction is supported by a car body 11R of the vehicle through a bracket 17 possible to be broken by a collision load in a vehicle collision. In a front collision of the vehicle, the engine 10 is retreated, while sliding to one side in the car cross direction, and the bracket 17 is broken at the same time so as to drop the engine 10.
