<p>A food processing device (10) has a housing (100) with a lid (110), a rotatable attachment [e.g. a basket (200) or beater (200")] therein, and a drive mechanism (300) in the lid (110) for rotating the attachment (200) to process food in the housing (100). The drive mechanism (300) has a manual actuator (310) and a gear train (320) for transmitting drive from the actuator (310) to rotate the attachment (200). The actuator (310) lies on an outer surface (116) of the lid (110) and is movable along the lid surface (116) in opposite directions between two positions to rotate the attachment (200) in one single direction. A ratchet assembly (400) in drive engagement with the gear train (320) enables transmission of rotational drive only in one single direction. A braking mechanism (500) is included for braking the attachment (200), which has a manual operator (310) and two braking shoes (510 & 520) for movement by the operator (310) to brake the attachment (200) by friction.</p> |
