<p>The invention discloses a method for processing a forking service, which includes: when receiving the first final-response to a session request, the initiator client starts a preset timer for the other dialogs waiting for final-response in connection with this session; before the timer is expire, the initiator client executes the process of releasing a dialog according to the prior art process for receiving a final-response, which does not involve processing of the dialogs waiting for final-response; after the timer expires, the initiator client sends a BYE or CANCEL request to release the dialogs waiting for final-response. According to the invention, not only can the processing and implementation of a session that employs the fork function be simplified, but a large amount of resources of the client and the server is saved, and at the same time, uncomfortable experiences of the user are avoided.</p> |
