Interconnection of wall or roof support bars

Disclosed is a support bar 10 for a roof or wall having at one of its ends a joint 11 for fitting together like bars. The joint comprises a portion 22 of reduced size which is fittable within a generally unreduced portion 20 of adjacent like bar. A tongue 26 formed from the material of the bar springs into an aperture 28 when a joint 11 is formed so that the joint cannot be unmade. The tongue 26 also acts to prevent unwanted movement of two adjacent bars. The bars may be made from folded sheet metal having a generally L-shape with further projections extending from the ends of the legs of the L-shaped bar.
