<p>A portable information terminal (10) includes a first casing (1) having a manipulation unit (11) at its surface, a second casing (2) having a display unit (21) at its surface, and a rotation link mechanism (3) linking the first casing (1) and the second casing (2) such that the second casing (2) rotates slidably with respect to the first casing (1). The rotation link mechanism (3) is configured to allow transition, by one rotating operation, from one to another of a closed state in which the second casing (2) entirely covers the manipulation unit (11) of the first casing (1) and an open state in which the manipulation unit (11) of the first casing (1) is exposed as a result of movement of the second casing (2) that takes an axially symmetric orientation to the center line of the first casing (2) in the open state.
