An apparatus and a method for storing a broadcasting program are provided to allow a user to receive differentiated services, by reproducing the broadcasting program, which is divided by items. A PVR(Personal Video Recorder) unit(122) stores information of items corresponding to a broadcast program and predetermined portions of the broadcasting program. An OSD(On Screen Display) generation unit(138) generates OSD data for guiding the information of items. A broadcasting signal output unit(128) outputs the broadcasting program reproduced by the PVR unit, or mixes the OSD data in an output video signal to output the mixed data through a display device. A control unit(102) controls the OSD generation unit to generate the OSD data for guiding the information of items. When information of one item is selected, the control unit controls the PVR unit to read and reproduce a broadcasting program corresponding to the selected information. |
