An iron plate thickness detection system of a press automation system is provided to operate the iron plate thickness detection system along a conveyance bar regardless of vibrations of an iron plate. An iron plate thickness detection system of a press automation system includes upper and lower molds(3,4), stacker(8), an iron plate thickness detector(7), and a suction plate(6). The upper and lower molds are installed at one side of a press. The stacker is installed at the press, in which the upper and lower molds are installed, to stack iron plates. The iron plate thickness detector is installed at a conveyance bar(5) of a transfer device. The conveyance bar is vertically or horizontally moved on the stacker. The suction plate is disposed under the conveyance bar. The iron plate thickness detector is installed at a lower end of the conveyance bar and adjacent to the suction plate.
