<p>Designed for a system where an inserting needle hands over the yarn to a withdrawing needle at the loom's mid-point, a hooked arm which operates in sympathy with the weaving rhythm draws out a length of the supply weft between the bobbin and the monitoring unit in a length equal to the loom width between the handover mid-point and the far side of the loom. The purpose is to exert a control function on the weft yarn so that it can be monitored for breakage along its whole insertion length.</p> |
