ROADSIDE SAFETY BARRIER

A safety barrier is provided to enhance the flexural stiffness of a post and the stiffness of the ground at the same time by installing a case member to a surface soil layer, to prevent vehicle override and to secure the safety of passengers by reducing the punching shear fracture of a surface soil layer and the excessive horizontal displacement of a post and to reinforce the strength of a surface soil layer of the ground. The safety barrier(100) contains a post(10) buried under the ground to the appointed depth and formed in a cantilever structure for supporting the whole structure of a safety barrier and resisting the horizontal impact load transferred from the collided vehicle or guardrail with flexural stiffness, a guardrail(30) formed to have a wavy cross-section to resist vehicle impact with flexural stiffness and tension and fixed to a spacer installed on the top of the post, and a case member(50) composed of a case body(51) and a cover plate(55) and installed on the buried part of the post which makes contact with a surface soil layer of the ground to reinforce the flexural stiffness of the post and the stiffness of the ground.
