A multiple-access communication system uses spreading codes which may be orthogonal, shift orthogonal or self shift orthogonal. Blocks of symbols spread with these codes are pre-coded prior to transmission to effect a phase rotation in the blocks. A guard interval, cyclic prefix or zero padding is then added to the symbols prior to transmission. Reverse operations occur at the receiver. The system eliminates multi-user interference (MUI). Particular embodiments described include reduced-complexity SC-FDMA, reduced-complexity OFDMA and self shift orthogonal CP-CDMA. |
