In a device for promoting the clotting of blood at a dialysis access site, a cuff (10) is provided and has an outer shell (12) and an inner lining (14). The cuff is constrictable around a body portion of a patient on which a wound associated with the dialysis access site is located. A molecular sieve material is attached to the cuff so that when treating the wound, at least a portion of the molecular sieve material contacts blood emanating from the wound.
