An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for driving the same are provided to require no connector at the high voltage stress driving time of an LCD panel, by using a DC(Direct Current)-DC converter, which generates high voltages higher than normal voltages at the high voltage stress driving time of the LCD panel. An LCD comprises an LCD panel(180) and a DC-DC converter(40). The DC-DC converter generates normal voltages at the normal driving time of the LCD panel. The DC-DC converter generates high voltages higher than the normal voltages at the high voltage stress driving time of the LCD panel. The DC-DC converter includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) unit, an inductor, a Zener diode, a first charge pump, and a second charge pump. |
