A vacuum cleaner is provided to easily stop cleaning by stopping suction of the cleaner with removing a grip force of a lever member without an extra operation. A vacuum cleaner includes a vacuum cleaner main body, a brush assembly, an air flow passage, a grip(40), and a suction force controller(50). The vacuum cleaner main body includes a vacuum source. The vacuum source generates vacuum. The brush assembly has a suction inlet to which external air including dust inlets from a floor. The air flow passage connects the brush assembly and the vacuum cleaner main body. The grip is installed on the air flow passage for handling the brush assembly. The suction force controller is installed on the grip, is electrically connected to the vacuum source of the cleaner main body, and controls a suction force by a grip force of a user.
