METHOD FOR CONTROLING INTERFERENCE IN A WIRELESS MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for controlling interference in a wireless mobile communication system is provided to prevent mobile stations from competitively increasing Tx power as a base station separates edge mobile stations from near mobile stations in executing interference control. A base station establishes a reference value and separates edge mobile stations from near mobile stations(302). Then the base station sets up the first through fifth thresholds(304). In this case, the first and second thresholds are established for interference control for the edge mobile stations. The third through fifth thresholds are established for interference control for the near mobile stations. The base station executes interference control for the edge mobile stations in consideration of the first and second thresholds(306). The base station executes interference control for the near mobile stations in consideration of the third through fifth thresholds(308).
