A mobile communication terminal and a caller information updating method thereof are provided to alleviate annoyance that a callee directly inputs changed elements at a phone book by comparing existing stored phone number information with a phone number changing message received from a caller, and notifying the callee of the changed elements. A caller information updating method of a mobile communication terminal comprises the following several steps. The mobile communication terminal receives a message including user information(S210). The terminal identifies whether the received message is for changing phone number information(S220), and if so, the terminal parses the message into a name and a phone number(S230). The terminal compares the parsed name and phone number with a stored name and phone number(S240). If both the name and the phone number, parsed by the terminal, are the same as both the name and the phone number, stored at the terminal, the terminal updates caller information(S260). If the received message is not for changing the phone number information, the terminal processes the received message as a general message(S270). If information on a user and a caller are not identical with each other, the terminal processes the received message as a general message.
