An ice maker and a controlling method of the same are provided to reduce operating time of a heater for reducing energy consumption by using weight of ice and pushing force of an ejector for discharging the ice. An ice maker includes an ice making tray(110) and a plurality of ice making rooms(112). The ice making room is partitioned as a plurality of unit rooms by a plurality of partitions projected at an internal surface of the ice making tray to produce a plurality of ices at once. The partition is installed along a rotating direction of the ice making tray to extract the ice easily when the ice making tray rotates. The ice maker further includes an ejector(150), a driving device(106), and a separation device. The ejector is rotatably installed on each ice making room to discharge the ice made at the ice making room. The driving device rotates the ice making tray. The separation device separates the ice from the ice making tray.
