A multistage compression type rotary compressor is provided to reduce power consumption when applied a light load by reducing amount of inflowing refrigerant into a first rotating compression component. A multistage compression type rotary compressor includes a connecting path(100). The connecting path includes a first path(110), a storing room(112), and a second path(114). The first path is formed along a shaft direction of a top cylinder(38) and a middle partitioning wall(36). The storing room is connected to the first path and formed inside of a bottom cylinder(40). The second path is formed along the shaft direction in the bottom cylinder. The first path is a path to communicate the storing room with an intake port(160) at a suction side of a second rotary compression element. One end of the first path is connected with the suction port and the other end is communicated with the storing room.
