A mobile communication terminal transmitting a message and a method thereof are provided to convert the operation of a character displayed on java contents into preset codes and transmit a message including at least one converted code, thereby reducing the capacity of message. A mobile terminal includes a display module(500), a controller(300), a transceiver(100), and a memory(400). The display module(500) displays the operation of a moving character according to user's selection. The controller(300) converts the operation of the displayed character into preset codes. The transceiver(100) transmits a message including at least one converted code. The preset code includes the type of the character and the type of an item used by the character. The memory(400) stores the preset code corresponding to the operation of the displayed character. The display module(500) displays the operation of the character using java contents.
